Ines Invited to the LA-Korea Life Sciences Roundtable by LAEDC
May 03, 2026The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) is a premier nonprofit dedicated to advancing economic growth and global competitiveness across Los Angeles County. Since 1981, the organization has operated at the intersection of government and international trade, supporting companies as they navigate the U.S. market.
Through its international arm, the World Trade Center Los Angeles, the LAEDC facilitates foreign direct investment and fosters strategic partnerships, recently inviting Ines Nasri to join a private roundtable conversation to contribute her perspective on global expansion and market entry strategies. Drawing from her extensive work with international founders and healthcare-focused companies, Ines highlighted the critical importance of aligning innovation with U.S. market expectations, regulatory frameworks, and essential trust-building mechanisms. By participating in these high-level convenings, which serve as trusted platforms for innovation in sectors like bioscience and technology, she further emphasized the growing role of digital health technologies in improving care delivery while scaling sustainable, impactful business models within one of the world’s largest regional economies.

Organized as part of the Global Industry Exchange: K-Biohealth Connect LA 2026, the roundtable was led by William Powles, Senior Director of International Trade at LAEDC. The session welcomed a curated group of Korean biotech and healthcare companies alongside Los Angeles-based leaders from business, government, and innovation ecosystems.

The event featured a structured roundtable discussion followed by a networking lunch. The agenda focused on three key areas shaping the future of healthcare innovation and international expansion. First, participants explored the Los Angeles life sciences ecosystem and the resources available to support international companies entering and scaling in the U.S. market. Second, the discussion examined U.S. perspectives on preventative care and how Korean innovations in diagnostics and remote monitoring can contribute to evolving healthcare models. Third, the group addressed the adoption of digital healthcare solutions, including AI-powered platforms, patient-facing applications, and care management tools.

The roundtable featured leading Korean companies across digital health, robotics, diagnostics, and medical devices, including Hicare.net, Cosmo Robotics, InBody, SL Preventive Medical Center, Benilight, Sierra Health Care, Saeshin Precision, and Humanscape. Each company brought forward unique innovations, from AI-powered predictive health management to rehabilitation robotics and rare disease platforms.
The discussion was highly interactive, with participants exchanging insights, asking targeted questions, and identifying opportunities for collaboration. The intimate setting encouraged open dialogue and meaningful connections, reinforcing the value of cross-border partnerships in advancing healthcare innovation.

The event concluded with a networking lunch on the 54th floor, offering panoramic views of Los Angeles and additional time for relationship building. Attendees expressed strong interest in continuing conversations beyond the roundtable, particularly around market entry strategies and partnership opportunities in the U.S.
This roundtable reflects the growing importance of global collaboration in life sciences and healthcare. As innovation continues to accelerate, platforms like LAEDC’s Global Industry Exchange play a critical role in connecting international leaders and driving economic development.
